Quick Hits

Angel Network accepting funding requests
The WTC Angel Network is now accepting proposals from start-up technology companies looking for early-stage angel investment. Companies interested in seeking angel investment through the WTC’s statewide network of investors should contact Nate Silverman, WTC Angel Network Manager, 206-616-7153 or nates@watechcenter.org.

Deadline nears for grant proposals
The deadline to submit proposals for the 2004 WTC Research and Technology Development (RTD) Program is April 22. The RTD grant program provides funding at the research level for companies looking to partner with an academic or nonprofit research facility to develop technology for their business. Last fall, WTC awarded $400,000 in grant money to nine companies to assist in their R&D efforts. In addition to funding, WTC can match companies looking for R&D assistance with the appropriate research partners for their projects. For more information about WTC’s research grant programs, contact Laura Dorsey, 206-685-4809 or ldorsey@watechcenter.org or visit the RTD Grant section of our website.

Grant partnerships extended to include nonprofit research institutions
Companies looking to participate in WTC’s research grant program can now look to new research partners beyond the state’s academic institutions. Nonprofit research institutions in Washington are also eligible to apply for and receive funding from WTC for collaborative R&D projects if they meet the programs requirements. Contact Laura Dorsey, 206-685-4809 or ldorsey@watechcenter.org.
