WTC welcomes new staff

Kery AlexanderKerry Alexander has joined WTC’s marketing team as Communications Manager. Kerry has 15 years experience in corporate communications and public relations working for Washington-based organizations. As communications manager, she is responsible for managing the public relations efforts for WTC and its service lines. Kerry’s career background includes serving as Marketing Communications Manager for VoteHere, Inc., an election technology company, and PR/Communications Director for the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce. Kerry has a B.A. in Communications from the University of Washington.

Hopper ChuAn-Shyang “Hopper” Chu, PhD joins WTC as Senior Research Engineer in the organization’s Microfabrication Laboratory. Dr. Chu brings a wealth of experience in surface/bulk MEMS processing, metrology techniques and gray scale lithography to his position as senior research engineer. Before coming on board at WTC, Dr. Chu worked on site at the Microfabrication Laboratory for two Washington companies that have used the lab’s specialized equipment and facilities for process development and prototype manufacturing. Dr. Chu holds a B.S. in Optics from the University of Rochester, an M.E. in Engineering Physics from Cornell University and a Ph.D. in Optical Sciences from the University of New Mexico and hold four U.S. patents, three in the areas of Interferometric Lithography. Karen GrieserKaren Sandhu-Grieser has joined the staff of the Northwest Energy Technology Collaborative (NWETC) as Program Manager for Demonstration Projects. Karen has a long history working with the British Columbia governments including serving as Communications Manager for Western Diversification, the economic development agency of the Canadian Federal Government. Currently Karen is managing one of NWETC’s largest projects, the Technology Showcase set for July 13 in Victoria, B.C. Karen has a diploma in Business Writing, Public Relations and Marketing Communications from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, B.C. and also studied public relations and marketing communications management at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in Vancouver, B.C.
