The best meetings to attend are our Portland Angel Network (PAN) events. They kick off with about a half hour of socializing followed by 3 well coached company presentations of 10 minutes each followed by a short Q&A. We then excuse the entrepreneurs and spend about 45 minutes going through the due diligence that was completed before the meeting. Each due diligence team presents a recommendation - continue, defer (put on hold) or pass. "Continue due diligence" leads to more work and a recommendation a month later at an OAF fund meeting: fund (how much/terms), defer (watch but not quite comfortable investing yet), or pass.
