Demand-Driven Innovation
Opening panel discussion featuring thought leaders who will share their insights about how the business climate, consumer decisions and the economy will impact, and be impacted by, innovation and sustainability in the state of Washington.

The panel will discuss the long term impacts that will occur both economically and competitively and how innovation will serve as the differentiator in the marketplace. Creating sustained economic value and return on investment will also be examined and how businesses can feasibly incorporate innovative and sustainable practices. In addition, panelists will identify some of the hidden barriers to overcome during the innovation process with a look at how regulations are helping or hindering progress.

Biofuels — From Surf to Turf
This session will explore breakthrough approaches in the future of biofuels available from natural sources such as algae. In addition, a discussion about how diverse high-value byproducts can be gained. The discussion will also address the issues about fuel vs. food extant in the biofuel space today.
