Any size company can apply for a WTC funding program. However, there is a preference for small companies (250 employees or fewer).
WTC does not generally fund clinical trials, but will consider a project with a small (e.g. <30%) trial component, if the trial is needed to prove commercialization.
WTC funds projects conducted by nonprofit research institutions and universities in Washington State. Below is a list of currently eligible research partners. If the institution or university you are interested in does not appear on the list, it still may be eligible for this program.
To be considered, submit an RTD Partner Application Form or contact Sue Hollis, 206-616-3101 for more information on issues such as licensing and handling of intellectual property.
WTC looks for research partners who show willingness to commercialize their research, have appropriate facilities, and have policies for conducting collaborative research.
Detailed criteria and instructions are found in the proposal materials.
