Stress 'creativity' and 'communications' improvements needed in business & society; emotional effects of the built environment; Will we be able to maintain complex systems, facilities, and economies in the long run? Will they adopt well to climate change?

What constitutes the process of innovative thinking? How does one encourage innovative thinking in their organization? I'm looking forward to next year's summit.

I would LOVE to see Solar, Wind, Water and Geothermal Technologies displayed, with more of them in future shows presenting their findings. This is mission critical for my company. Retrofitting old commercial buildings into state of the art LEED building is my company’s specialty... anything that focuses on the ultimate goal of commercial building sustainability is terrific.

Provide a printed directory listing of all attendees with affiliation and email. Focus less on generic roundtables (‘what is innovation?’) and more on specific discussions, say on new technologies, startup funding situation, ... Invite more people to present 5-minute talks at the track sessions; allocate 1/2 hour to this; 6 people; rapid fire mode. Attendees will enjoy being exposed to a wider variety of ideas even within the narrow confine of the track sessions. Have a local venture capital company head give next year's luncheon talk. Where was the local VC community in this meeting? Surprised that there were no tracks on software/Web 2.0/future Internet technologies; this being Seattle! Have a running ‘live blog’ of what is being talked about at all track sessions -- maybe I'm also interested in Healthy Ecosystems but really wanted to attend the Sustainable Energy session.

More discussion of partnering (inventors & manufacturers; inventors & engineers; etc.) and current opportunities (we talked to a lot of early stage researchers, but also many that currently were offering services/products).

Discussing 'creativity','inovation',and 'communications' skills, blockers, and processes that support these human attributes is very important! There should be a tract on a social issue each year.
