Regional Technical Services

WTC’s Regional Technical Services offers support to entrepreneurs statewide. We help young companies work through their R&D funding needs, provide access to investments, and assist in developing strategies supporting rapid growth. Our areas of focus include:

    Federal Funding Assistance
WTC helps entrepreneurial technology companies secure federal funding through Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. These awards help companies leverage private research and development investments and build job opportunities in the state.

    Small Business Counseling
Through WTC’s Small Business Counseling program, we provide one-on-one assistance to small- and medium-sized technology-related companies with business planning and capitalization strategies. We help small businesses:

      Prepare for financing rounds.
Formulate strategic plans to enter new markets.
Assess, validate, and refine business plans and models.

    R&D Funding and Support
WTC’s Research & Technology Development (RTD) Awards provide matching funds for industry-university collaborative projects. In addition to funding, WTC fosters cross-sector partnerships by linking Washington companies with technical experts and resources among the state’s research institutions.

    WTC Angel Network
WTC opens up new seed capital funding channels by connecting entrepreneurial companies with local “Angel” investor groups across the state. We bring these investor groups together into a larger, statewide Angel network, increasing early-stage funding opportunities for businesses in local communities throughout Washington.
