The Washington Technology Center's Speakers Bureau is a resource of industry professionals knowledgeable on a wide range of subjects. Dr. Lee Cheatham
Lee Cheatham is Executive Director of the Washington Technology Center. Dr. Cheatham is a dynamic and diverse presenter with a wealth of experience both as a keynote speaker and moderator. His professional background includes founding a startup software company and holding senior management positions with prestigious engineering and research organizations including 17 years with Battelle-Pacific Northwest National Laboratories. Dr. Cheatham has BS, MS and PhD degrees in electrical engineering. Dr. Cheatham's global experience has focused on building market-driven interactions under a variety of commercial, government and university sponsorships. In each of his assignments, Dr. Cheatham has focused on the impact of innovation and collaboration. He continues this mission in his leadership of WTC. Dr. Cheatham received a BS degree from Oregon State University and MS degree from Washington State University, both in electrical engineering. He also received a Ph.D. in electrical engineering with specialization in optical computing from Carnegie-Mellon University.

Tab Wilkins
Tab Wilkins is the Director of WTC's Regional and Technical Services division, where he oversees the management of four programs geared towards technology business development. Mr. Wilkins has over 18 years experience in developing and managing non-profit organizations providing assistance to business and industry for the purposes of job creation and community development. His particular area of expertise is the federal SBIR and STTR program, something he has worked with since 1984. Under his leadership New York State went from ninth to fifth nationally in SBIR awards won, he has directed the Washington State effort in SBIR since 2001. Mr. Wilkins has a BA from St. Olaf College in Minnesota, and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York.

Nate Silverman
Nate Silverman joined the Washington Technology Center (WTC) in August as the Manager of the organizations' Angel Network. Mr. Silverman is responsible for facilitating the creation of local angel investor groups in communities across Washington and establishing a statewide network for investors and entrepreneurs seeking seed capital. Mr. Silverman's comprehensive professional background combines investment, business development and public relations and he is well-versed in the arenas of early stage investment strategies for both investors and companies. Mr. Silverman holds an MBA from the University of Washington and a BA in Economics from the University of California, San Diego.

Eric Miller
Eric Miller is the Manager of WTC's Microfabrication Laboratory. He oversees a team of six research engineers and technicians and also drives the business development, client relations, and facility management for this world-class research center. Mr. Miller has a strong background in technical innovation and engineering. He holds a patent for developing a method of forming shallow trench isolation in silicon wafers and has published papers on deep reactive ion etching and PDMS micro-molding techniques. Mr. Miller has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.

Laura Dorsey
Laura Dorsey is Technical Services Manager in WTC's Regional and Technical Services department. Ms. Dorsey oversees the organization's Research and Technology Development (RTD) awards program. Ms. Dorsey's career experience combines knowledge in sales, engineering and marketing for both nonprofit and private sector technology organizations. Her expertise lies in grant management and facilitation of successful partnerships between industries and universities to help companies leverage their R&D strengths. Ms. Dorsey has a B.S. in Zoology from The Ohio State University and a Certificate in Fund Raising Management from University of Washington Extension.
